Tired and draggy
“go to sleep,”
my body tells me.
“go to sleep,”
again it begs.
Crawl in bed,
sound asleep.
then
WIDE AWAKE.
sigh
“No sleep for you,”
my body teases me.
My brain abuzz
with nonsense,
unnecessary worries,
idiotic jokes,
and unquenched desires.
My body stirs
remembering,
hungering,
longing,
burning to be appeased
as my lover lays next to me slumbering.
sigh
